Greenfield Energy Centre

The Greenfield Energy Centre is a 1,038-megawatt, combined-cycle power generation facility that is designed to meet the growing demand for electricity in Ontario.  Calpine owns 100 percent interest in this facility.  Located in Courtright, near Sarnia, Ontario, the facility has the capacity to serve the needs of hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses in the local region.  The facility is fueled by clean natural gas and utilizes highly efficient combined-cycle technology. It produces dramatically fewer emissions than older, fossil-fueled generating stations in Ontario and assists in achieving the Ontario government’s clean air objectives.
