Carbon Capture and Sequestration, or “CCS,” refers to a group of technologies that capture and sequester carbon dioxide from existing energy facilities.

Our CCS projects follow a three-step process:

Step 1: Capture technology safely removes carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from natural gas facilities. This capture equipment is built at, or adjacent to, gas facilities.

Step 2: Captured CO2 is transported from the emissions source to appropriate geologic formations.

Step 3: The captured CO2 is safely injected thousands of feet underground where, over time, it becomes a solid mineral.
