Yuba City Energy Center

The Yuba City Energy Center is a “peaker” facility located in Yuba City, California.  The single natural gas-fired, aero-derivative combustion turbine generator at Yuba City is used to rapidly respond to peak system electricity demands. Highly flexible, quick-responding peaker plants help integrate intermittent renewable resources into the state’s power grid.

The electricity from the Yuba City Energy Center is committed to Pacific Gas & Electric Co. under a  power purchase agreement.
