The Delta Energy Center is a highly efficient combined-cycle facility with advanced air emissions control technologies located in Pittsburg, California.  It is a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant consisting of three combustion turbines, three heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine.

To provide mutual benefits to the Delta and Los Medanos Energy Centers, the local communities and the local sanitation district, Calpine built a state-of-the-art recycled water facility.  Recycled water is piped to the energy centers and used to circulate through the cooling towers to cool the exhaust steam from the steam turbine generator.

The Delta Energy Center provides electricity to the California power market.  Calpine entered into a Resource Adequacy contract for the plant with Pacific Gas and Electric Company beginning in January 2014.
